The world runs on stories. Protagonists and Antagonists. Your life's main characters battle it out for your story. Once upon a time, there was a singer named Robert Finley. He was a fifty-one-year overnight sensation.
Iām no angel ... the story of my life š. For me, Slow Turning by John Hiatt kind of sums my life up. These days I not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. I am happy, joyous and free today, and all sorts of music has been a part of my story. Thank you for sharing part of yours.
āIs today my fifty-first birthday, or is it the first birthday of the rest of my life?ā What a stark reminder that our best days are always in front of us. No brakes, all gas.
So Cool. Elegant and inspired playlist and commentary.
You quote: āIām not getting older. Iām evolving. - Keith Richards. Exactly.
This morning in my Spotify New Released playlist newer "Watching The River Flow" by Bob Dylan - with some updated lines. "People disappearing everywhere you look."

Slow Turning. Hell of a song. Iām
Not the biggest Hiatt fan (for no particular reason), but that song always got to me.
It's about getting/staying/living sober...captures it perfectly!
"Now I'm in my car
Ooh, I got the radio down
Now I'm yellin' at the kids in the back
'Cause they're bangin' like Charlie Watts
You think you've come so far
In this one horse town
Then she's laughin' that crazy laugh
'Cause you haven't left the parking lot"
Might be one of my all time favorites. It's an entire life story in 2 verses.
I spent a lot of my 20s burning up/down state highways. Lot of AM radio listening. Hiatt too.

See the big picture. Keep moving forward.

That Keith quote is great - even more so because itās him saying it. Itās so true.
I listened to the Bob track on Friday. I heard that line too. He contains multitudes. The feeling is real.
Did you see that broadcast when it came out? Itās was good. It was a real production. Bathed in shadows.
Agree 100%. So fortunate to have musicians like this in the world.
